Cape Blanco Lighthouse
As I made my way back to LA from capturing watescapes along the beautiful Southern Oregon coast I made a right turn and visited the Cape Blanco Lighthouse. I was truly blessed at the coast was foggy and the light was working, Hhhmm maybe its on all the time?

Cape Blanco Lighthouse, perched on the westernmost point in Oregon, boasts a rich history and stunning architecture. Constructed in 1870, it is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the Oregon coast. The lighthouse was designed to aid mariners navigating the treacherous waters of the Pacific Ocean. Standing 59 feet tall, its original first-order Fresnel lens was replaced by a modern light but remains a significant piece of maritime history. Cape Blanco's lighthouse has weathered countless storms, symbolizing steadfastness and safety. In addition to its practical purpose, it has become a historical landmark, drawing visitors for tours and offering panoramic views of the Pacific and surrounding landscapes. Today, Cape Blanco Lighthouse is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and supported by local volunteers. It remains open to the public, offering guided tours that provide insights into its operational history and architectural significance, ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.
